Brief Encounters: Literary travellers in Australia
From the 1830s through to the 1930s several famous writers visited Australia. They came for science, to see children, for work, on strange missions, and to escape what was back home. All of them had fascinating visits and all ended up writing about Australia in either novels, short stories, essays, travel books or poems.
Join Susannah Fullerton as she tells the intriguing stories of 11 writers and shows how they responded to Australia.
