Kipling’s School Days – a talk by Robert Cameron
Robert (Bob) Cameron AO was an engineer and senior Executive in the resources industry before semi-retiring and taking on several not-for-profit and government board positions. These include roles at UNSW (where he has been awarded and honorary doctorate) University of Newcastle and the Powerhouse Museum. For the past five years, Bob has been very involved with the NSW State Library, being on the Library Council and a Trustee of the Foundation. He has an extensive and eclectic personal library of around 9,000 books, ranging from the conventional including Kipling, Stevenson and Antarctic exploration, to the less so: mining disasters, polar fiction, and Genesis Publications.
Bob will speak about his book collecting with particular reference to Kipling and his senior school days with specially reference to his book Stalky & Co.
