Harry Potter’s awful relatives gave him a single tissue as a Christmas present. Scrooge thinks giving gifts is all humbug, while in C.S. Lewis’s Narnia Christmas has been cancelled altogether.
I’m rather more generous than that and almost always give people books as Christmas presents. Do you?
If so, why not consider shopping from the new gift service on my website? I can sign one of my books for your friends or loved ones, gift wrap it and post it off direct to them so that it brings someone a lovely Christmas surprise. Visit the link below to send off the CD Poetry to Fill a Room, or one of my Jane Austen books for any of your friends who want to start celebrating next year’s important Jane Austen anniversary early. Or remind friends of the delight of reading Georgette Heyer by giving them the new booklet Complete to a Shade.
FREE gift wrap and delivery
To make your gift giving a little simpler this year, my elves will do the wrapping and delivering for you. Just purchase any one of my books or CDs and I will gift wrap it and send the gift direct to the recipient.
So visit my Bookshop and place an order. Simply use the Special Instructions field on the purchase form to order gift wrapping and enter the delivery name and address if different from the order address. Don’t forget the special inscription also!
Please order by 18 December 2016 to allow time for me to gift wrap and deliver your purchase in time.
Tell me about the most memorable book you have been given by leaving a comment and I warmly wish you a joyful Christmas and a restful holiday season.

Thanks from both me and Cheryl for the good wishes. I am thinking that in January I will have to start resembling Lady Bertram from ‘Mansfield Park’ – I will take to my sofa and spend long days there! Merry Christmas to you too, Helen, and thanks for your kind comments.
