A captivating new literary lecture: Men, Glorious Men – Jeeves & Wooster
Friday 29th and Saturday 30th November 2019
If I could have a valet, then I’d want Jeeves.
Find out about the man who is so skilled that his name has become the generic term for an excellent servant.
Why, in the 21 Century, do we still love the Edwardian valets, clubland nincompoops, and lounge lizards of these novels?
Is the impeccable Jeeves an impossible dream? And does the poor man manage to have any private life at all?
What did P.G. Wodehouse do for the Nazis which got him and his books into trouble?
“And she’s got brains enough for two, which is the exact quantity the girl who marries you will need.”
― P.G. Wodehouse
Laugh over hopeless engagements, horrific aunts and country house shenanigans with this hilarious pair.

I am very excited about this year’s lecture series. Not only do I have a fun and intriguing topic, but I also have a brand new home! I can’t wait to welcome you all to The Australian Maritime Museum where I’ll be presenting this year’s talks.
Located in the Darling Harbour precinct of Sydney’s CBD, the Australian Maritime Museum is easy to get to by bus, light rail, or on foot. There is plenty of affordable parking close by and the vibrant Darling Harbour is just next door. It’s so easy to get to there, my transport flyer will show you how.
At this new and interesting venue, we’ll have a private, comfortable theatre, a delicious morning tea, and if you stay for lunch in the cafe after the talk, you’ll enjoy fabulous water views.
