An impelling new literary lecture: Men, Glorious Men – Mr Darcy

Friday 11th and Saturday 12th October 2019

When Fitzwilliam Darcy walks into the pages of Pride & Prejudice he is mentioned simply as another young man.
But what a young man he turns out to be!
Mr Darcy – so sexy that a pheromone has been named for him.

Darcy seems to be the perfect romantic hero.

Is his silence the secret behind his appeal?

How convincing is the wet shirt scene that has so enhanced his and Colin Firth’s reputations?

How did his parents damage him, and why is his first proposal so disastrous?

Visit Pemberley with me and learn about the real Mr Darcy.

“You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.”
― Jane Austen, Pride And Prejudice

I’m deeply in love with Mr Darcy, will my lecture make you passionate about him too?

I am very excited about this year’s lecture series. Not only do I have a fun and intriguing topic, but I also have a brand new home! I can’t wait to welcome you all to The Australian Maritime Museum where I’ll be presenting this year’s talks.

Located in the Darling Harbour precinct of Sydney’s CBD, the Australian Maritime Museum is easy to get to by bus, light rail, or on foot. There is plenty of affordable parking close by and the vibrant Darling Harbour is just next door. It’s so easy to get to there, my transport flyer will show you how.

At this new and interesting venue, we’ll have a private, comfortable theatre, a delicious morning tea, and if you stay for lunch in the cafe after the talk, you’ll enjoy fabulous water views.
