I would like to wish all the readers of my literary newsletter a very merry Christmas.
Over the years I have collected literary figures and characters for my Christmas tree and I have great pleasure in decorating the tree with Robbie Burns, Jane Austen, James Joyce, Sherlock Holmes and Alice in Wonderland, amongst many others. My family thinks it is decidedly strange to have such decorations hanging amongst the baubles and lights, but I think it’s a nice way to demonstrate my love of literature.
Emma and Mr Knightley have been placed near each other, James Joyce and Jane Austen are kept far apart, Don Quixote keeps guard over any threats, and Shakespeare presides over it all.
Are you as literary in your choice of Christmas decorations? Even if you do not share my particular madness, I hope that beneath the tree there will be many books as presents. I also hope that you can find time over the holiday season in which to read them. Tell me about your Christmas tree or holiday reading by leaving a comment.
As you do your Christmas shopping, you might like to consider some of the lovely literary gifts offered by The Crow Emporium. You can choose from a great range of stationery, jewellery, clothes, prints, and gifts for children. As a reader of my newsletter, you can even get a special 10% discount – see the voucher below:
