SYDNEY: Dickens and Animals10:30 am - 12:00 pm
Charles Dickens was an animal lover and often wrote about them. Dogs are almost always portrayed as loyal, loving companions, while cats fare less well, often being treated with suspicion or disdain, their independence clearly at odds with Dickens’s preference for faithful devotion. This talk explores Dickens’ deep affection for animals and what these creatures tell us about the heart of one of England’s greatest storytellers.
The Dickens Society of NSW has a meeting charge of $5. No bookings required.
