‘Little Women’ (1933)

Paid and bookings essential.

Australia’s Silent Film Festival presents Little Women (1933) with soundtrack.

The 1933 film of Louisa May Alcott’s classic Little Women was the first ‘talkie’ version of the novel. Directed by George Cukor and starring Katharine Hepburn, the film came out during the Great Depression. Its message of resilience, frugality and the need for social reform resonated with audiences of the day. The moving story of the March girls buoyed the spirits, and it still does. Come and enjoy a large-screen presentation of this magnificent film.

I will introduce the film and lead a Question and Answer session afterwards.
