‘I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year,’ says Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, possibly the most popular of all Christmas stories.
So in the spirit of giving, I have a little festive gift for the young people in your life. I’ve prepared a lovely series of 7 printable colouring pages, all with a festive bookish theme and a literary Christmas quote. Print them for your children or grandchildren to colour in at home, send them to your child’s school for a class activity, email to friends and relatives, share them on social media, spread them far and wide. Each page has the link to the free Charles Dickens video, so you’ll also be giving a lovely festive gift every time.
Click on each image below to view and print each colouring page.
I hope you enjoy the video and colouring sheets. Send me a photo of your child’s completed colouring in and you might see it on my Facebook Page.
Does your family have a bookish Christmas? Do you have a favourite Christmas story? Let me know in a comment.

Thanks Susannah for the fascinating talk about Dickens and ‘A Christmas Carol’. It is very generous of you. I hope you have a lovely Christmas and best wishes for 2022.

Thanks for the link to your talk about Dickens’ book. My favourite Christmas story is Henry Van Dyke’s The Story of the Other Wise Man. It’s been made into film versions (starring Martin Sheen and Alan Arkin) and animated versions as well. I’ve always found the climax moving, but won’t spoil it!

Thanks for the suggestion, Miland. I will look out for it. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
